The beginning
Like JOIN, Altruist was founded by two friends. Andrew (UK) and David (NL) met in South Africa and became good friends whilst sitting in the morning sun on surfboards in the Indian Ocean. David (an economist who has worked in skincare his whole life) and Andrew (a Consultant Dermatologist) worked together on their shared mission: to reduce the incidence of skin cancer through the increased use of quality sunscreen together with better education and awareness. In line with this mission, Altruist supports charities that help children with albinism in Tanzania and the rest of Africa.
